Development & Alumni Relations Database/Gift Coordinator

Position Description

Mount Mercy University is currently seeking candidates to fill the position of Database/Gift Coordinator for Development & Alumni Relations.

This position will support the overall goals of the office by maintaining alumni and donor records, daily gift entry and receipting, use of the fundraising software, Raiser’s Edge. This position requires a high attention to detail, the ability to work autonomously in a multi-functional environment, and a strong desire to work efficiently and improve systems, processes, and beyond.

  • Gift Processing:
    • Process all pledges and gifts to the university, including employee payroll deductions; recurring gifts, matching gifts and in-kind gifts
    • Enter and track deferred giving information
    • Run daily gift receipts and donors acknowledgements

  • Data Management:
    • Make timely and accurate data updates in the Raiser’s Edge (RE) fundraising software.
    • Manage lists and data reports to support the development and alumni team
    • Design and implement systems for tracking data for giving and engagement.
    • Collaborate with departments across campus (ie. IT, President’s office, Registrar) to ensure data needs and integration needs are being met.
    • Serve as the point person for the development database and resolve data issues as they arise.

  • Other duties as assigned, including various administrative tasks, office projects, events, mailings, etc.

Necessary Skills

  • Experience in complex fundraising database management with preference given to experience with Raiser’s Edge/Blackbaud products.
  • High level of accuracy with data entry and gift processing.
  • Ability to identify inefficient or ineffective processes and suggest improvements.
  • Ability to handle confidential data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able to work independently and as a team member with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication.
  • Flexibility to handle changing priorities and the ability to thrive and work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Education Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree
