Head Women's Wrestling Coach

St. Ambrose University is excited to announce the launch of a new Women’s Wrestling program and is seeking a dynamic, dedicated, and visionary Head Coach to lead this initiative. This is a full-time position responsible for the development, recruitment, and coaching of a competitive women’s wrestling team that reflects the values and mission of St. Ambrose University and our athletics department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and launch the inaugural women’s wrestling program from the ground up.
  • Recruit and retain high-quality student-athletes in alignment with university and athletic department standards.
  • Develop and implement training programs, practice schedules, and competition strategies.
  • Promote academic success, character development, and well-being of student-athletes.
  • Manage program budget, equipment purchases, travel arrangements, and scheduling.
  • Ensure compliance with all institutional, NAIA conference, and national governing body rules and regulations.
  • Cultivate positive relationships within the campus community and with external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Prior collegiate wrestling coaching experience (women’s wrestling strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrated success in recruiting and developing student-athletes.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to NAIA regulations.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
