About

Associate Professor of Education, Paula Ganzeveld, joined Mount Mercy in Fall 2009.

She previously taught at Williamsburg High School, Prairie View Elementary, and Prairie Ridge Elementary as a special education teacher and instructional coach. She holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education, an MAE in literacy education, an MA in educational measurement and statistics, and a PhD in special education. She holds state of Iowa endorsements in K-6 Elementary Teacher Classroom, K-8 Reading, K-8 Mathematics, K-8 Instructional Strategist I, and K-12 Reading Specialist.

At Mount Mercy, she has taught classes in special education, classroom management, and educational research methods. She is also the undergraduate program coordinator for the Education department. She is a member of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) and Learning Disabilities Association (LDA).

In her spare time, Paula and her husband compete in dog sports including agility and lure coursing. They also volunteer with a local dog club by coordinating and teaching classes. They also enjoy spending time with their two grown children.
