Tom Ksobiech joined Mount Mercy in 2020 and serves as the Assistant Provost for Institutional Effectiveness.

In his role, Tom coordinates multiple initiatives to ensure that Mount Mercy moves forward. He manages the implementation of Mount Mercy’s strategic plan and monitors the progress that is made. Tom coordinates the University’s institutional research and manages the work done for institutional accreditation. Tom oversees Mount Mercy University’s relationships with businesses, governmental leaders, and community organizations. He coordinates the President’s Advisory Council of CEOs and community leaders. Tom provides guidance on human resource and legal matters as they arise. Beginning in July 2023, Tom will serve as Mount Mercy’s Title IX Coordinator. He frequently leads or serves upon policy and procedure committees on the campus. In addition, Tom teaches “Principles of Law,” a course for undergraduate business students.

Prior to arriving at Mount Mercy, Tom worked for fourteen years at the University of Alabama School of Law in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. As the Associate Dean for Administration and Communication, he was responsible for managing the operations of the law school, including human relations, purchasing, student concerns, and faculty matters. He maintained and analyzed the relevant data for national rankings. At Alabama Law, Tom also served stints as the Assistant Dean for Career Services and Assistant Director of Admissions. He counseled students and frequently represented the law school.

Tom taught Legal Ethics, Products Liability, and Law Office Management as an Adjunct Law Professor. His articles have been printed in industry publications, and he has given formal presentations for groups ranging from high school students to Boards of Directors. He also was a practicing litigator for six years before beginning his career in higher education.

In his spare time, Tom enjoys running, hiking with his wife and rescue dog, and watching his son play basketball and soccer.
