Business with a concentration in health services

Earn your health care administration degree and advance your career.

If you've ever been curious about the engine behind health care services, now is your chance to sit in the driver’s seat. Health Care Administration combines business skills and health care knowledge to produce leaders ready to make a difference in the health care field.

The broad base of knowledge necessary to be a successful health care administrator covers concepts like finance, law, patient care, managerial organization, compliance, and more. As an inherently interdisciplinary degree, the liberal arts foundation at Mount Mercy supports students in developing critical thinking skills as they learn in real time about health care services from every angle.

Based in business, focused on care

Preparing for a variety of skills needed in health organizations.

As a health care administration student, you'll study the same business core courses as the business degrees at Mount Mercy. This approach prepares you for managerial responsibilities required in the health care administration workforce.

The health care administration curriculum emphasizes interdisciplinary critical thinking, as well as helping you develop the most ethical approach to questions of law, management, finance, etc. that you'll face in your career.

As a health care administration student, you'll complete an internship or practicum experience to bring your knowledge into real-world situations. Internships help you gain valuable experience and allow you to make connections with potential future employers while exploring career options.

Students can choose to pursue an additional accreditation in long-term care. This specialized area of health care administration meets leadership needs in the constantly growing field.
