Mount Mercy University to offer early nursing admission and graduation in 3 ½ years

Nursing labMount Mercy University has announced it will offer early Bachelor of Science in Nursing admission for incoming freshmen. Designed for high-achieving students, applicants accepted through the preferred admission policy will receive early advising and the opportunity to graduate in 3 ½ years.

“Mount Mercy is excited to offer early admission to new incoming nursing students,” said Dr. Kim Bro, assistant professor of nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing chair. “It’s a great opportunity for students to get a jump start on their education and career. We look forward to continuing to develop outstanding caregivers and the health care leaders of tomorrow.”

To be eligible, incoming freshmen must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.5 and minimum ACT of 25 (1200 SAT). To finish the degree in less than four years, students are encouraged to complete a minimum of 12 college credits (community college, advanced placement, International Baccalaureate or College-Level Examination Program credits) during high school.   

Mount Mercy’s nursing program is one of the longest-established and most recognized nursing programs in Iowa. The university offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice within the Martin-Herold College of Nursing & Health.
