Mount Mercy’s Visiting Writers Series will host Emily Kingery, author of Invasives.
Emily will live read and discuss her debut book, Invasives, followed by a Q&A and book signature session. The event will be held in Flaherty Community Room 204 in Basile Hall.
Emily Kingery is a poet and professor of English at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. Her work appears widely in journals and has been selected for several honors and awards in poetry and prose. She is also a member of the Board of Directors at the Midwest Writing Center, a non-profit organization supporting writers in the Quad Cities community.
In Invasives, a young woman remembers her turbulent small-town adolescence and works to take control of her own story.
