“I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.'" Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
This is an event that creates an opportunity to hear institutional leaders, students, faculty, and staff reflect on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s inspiring work.
This year, we focus on the theme "Making His Dream a Reality" with keynote speaker Andre Wright, Fashion Activist and creator of Humanize my Hoodie.

Wright has dedicated his life to BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color). Since launching his own fashion brand out of the Midwest, Wright has grown Humanize My Hoodie into a global fashion activism movement, designing hoodies for rappers, Black liberation leaders, allies, and Black youth while staging fashion shows and workships nationally, educating thousands about the power of fashion to insire, empower, and spark important discussions.
The hoodie invites those conversations and the Humanize My Hoodie sweatshirt additionally serves as an educational tool to arm marginalized communities with innovative ways to uplift humanity and fight against violence and racism.
As a Catholic Mercy Institution, we uphold the inherent dignity and worth of all people.
