The creation of the program is in response to the need to provide working adults in the Corridor quality, strategic leadership education within an additional flexible delivery format.
This virtual seminar program allows students to take MSL classes virtually by connecting weekly to discuss topics and develop relationships. The low residency portion of the program brings students together to enhance professional presentation and communication skills.
The MSL program is designed for leaders with a growth mindset who would like to add higher level competencies to the skills most desired in organizations today. Focusing on relationships, leadership and strategic thinking, the program helps students drive collaboration and purpose to make them adaptive leaders of the future.
The MSL is part of Mount Mercy’s respected Business and Leadership Graduate Programs, which provide a structure for innovation and cross-collaboration between the MSL and the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs. Students in either program can add an additional master’s degree (MBA-MSL or MSL-MBA) with a few additional courses. Students can complete the MSL or MBA in 12-18 months or both degrees in 18-24 months.
Leadership is virtual in today’s global economy. By offering this delivery option, students will learn to communicate and lead both in person and virtually.
“Leadership is virtual in today’s global economy. By offering this delivery option, students will learn to communicate and lead both in person and virtually,” said Cherrie Spurlin, assistant professor and MSL program coordinator. “We want to provide students the opportunity to take classes that meet their needs. Both mediums provide a fantastic platform for learning and engaging with peers.”
