In developing the 2020 Best Online Bachelor’s Programs rankings, U.S. News assessed online programs based on accessible and responsive faculty, levels of degree completion, flexible learning technologies, and strong student support and financial aid resources. Importantly, the rankings also considered faculty academic credentials and the quality of instruction for the online courses.
“Mount Mercy’s faculty are dedicated to the success of all of our students and believe in offering a flexible and supportive environment for learning,” said Dr. Tim Laurent, MMU’s provost and vice president for academic affairs. “The same accomplished faculty teach both in Mount Mercy’s on campus and online classes.”

Mount Mercy University has a generous transfer policy allowing up to 75 transfer credits from community colleges and 93 total college credits toward the bachelor’s degree. This policy helps students earn their degree in less time, saving significant money on their college education. Online classes are taught in 5-week blocks with nine start times per year to accommodate the busy lives of working adults.
The university offers nine online bachelor’s degree programs in business, health care administration, liberal studies, religious studies and RN–BSN. Two graduate programs—Master of Business Administration and Master of Arts in Criminal Justice—are also offered online.
