Learning as a Leader
Stacie Osako ’24 MSL recognizes how important it is to continue learning and growing as a leader. She’s able to directly apply what she learns in her courses to her role at Informatics, Inc.
Stacie and her husband, John, took over the marketing and web agency Informatics in January 2020. Two short months later, the COVID-19 pandemic would begin and make them reconsider their leadership strategies.
“I count my lucky stars every day that we are a web and marketing agency, so technology is our strength,” shared Stacie. “That served us very well to adapt.”
As the Chief Experience Officer, Stacie is focused on the experience that both employees and clients have with Informatics. She explained that the pandemic made them reconsider company philosophies on how people work.
“I’ve been impressed with the content. I really appreciate that the professors are conscious of current trends and current challenges that businesses are facing.”
“We took a difficult situation, found the silver linings, and made positive change,” said Stacie.
“I want to make sure that I’m thinking of all the perspectives because that makes me a better leader and decision maker. Really great leaders are always learning.”
As a company leader, Stacie values having up-to-date information so she can manage successfully. She has learned about relevant and modern business research in the Master of Strategic Leadership program.

Stacie’s courses have helped her make informed business decisions and improve as a mentor to others in her company.
“I’m using content from the MSL to lift our other leaders,” said Stacie.
The MSL has offered Stacie a way to connect with other business members in the community. She’s found a lot of value in collaborating with classmates who work in a variety of fields with a range of experience levels. Her role as the Board President of Women Lead Change offers her another avenue to network within her community.
“I want to be challenged,” Stacie shared. “I want to make sure that I’m thinking of all the perspectives because that makes me a better leader and decision maker. Really great leaders are always learning.”
