About
Lisa Wissenberg is Mount Mercy University's own instructor of clarinet.
Lisa has completed her doctoral work at the University of Iowa, her master's in clarinet performance from the University of Iowa and her undergrad in Instrumental Music Education at Coe College. She has also has been a founding member of Trio Brava and Cob Trio. She was awarded a fellowship to study chamber music in Paris, France for the European-American Musical Alliance for a month in the summer of 2012.
Notably, she is also a member of numerous Eastern Iowa professional ensembles: South East Iowa Symphony Orchestra (principal clarinet), Orchestra Iowa (bass clarinet), Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra, Durward Ensemble, and the Cedar Rapids Municipal Band. Moreover, Lisa has been a featured soloist with the South East Iowa Symphony, University of Iowa University Band, and the Cedar Rapids Municipal Band.
Not only is Lisa a proud Mount Mercy educator, she is also on faculty at Kirkwood Community College, Cedar Rapids Community Schools and has a large private clarinet studio. Plus, she is a frequent clinician in area schools and is very pleased to share her expertise with students.
Additionally, Lisa plays on a variety of woodwind instruments when she frequently performs in a theater orchestra. She especially enjoys performing the Nutcracker Ballet each December for the Nolte School of Dance in Iowa City and reading through various music with her friends.
