About
Madison Woods joined Mount Mercy University in 2023, taking on the role of Assistant Professor of Nursing and RN-BSN chair.
Her roots to the Hill hold strong; before furthering her career to teach at Mount Mercy, Madison graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing on the Hill in 2018. Shortly afterward, Madison moved to Rochester, Minnesota, where she worked at the Mayo Clinic as a bedside nurse on a surgical inpatient floor. She then went on to Allen College, finishing her Master of Science in Nursing in 2021. Following her time in academia, Madison was able to transition her role at the Mayo Clinic into a Nurse Education Specialist position for Surgical Services, supporting orientation as well as continuing education and professional development.
Madison’s main interest in her field is post-surgical nursing, which encompasses a wide variety of patient populations and situations such as oncology, palliative care, preventative medicine, and more. She also enjoys patient education and being able to assist in building a patient’s confidence and understanding of their health care situation.
When Madison is not working, her free time is always spent with her family: her twin children and her loving husband. Together, they love being outdoors, spending time with friends and other family, doing all things sports, and exercising.
