Accelerated Program | Transfer

Complete your degree at Mount Mercy University — where you make a plan that fits into your life.

Transfer Friendly

College-level credits earned at regionally accredited institutions are evaluated and may be accepted as credit toward graduation from Mount Mercy. Because some majors require a minimum grade point average, course work is evaluated according to departmental requirements.

  • Two-year colleges — We accept up to 63 credit hours from a two-year college. For those with an Associate of Arts or Associate of Applied Science degree in an approved major from Kirkwood Community College or other Iowa Community Colleges, you may transfer 75 credits.
  • Four-year colleges — Up to 93 credits can be transferred from a four-year accredited college, ACE-recommended institution or military program.

Attended more than one school?   It's not unusual for our students to have attended several institutions before arriving at Mount Mercy University. To make sure we can transfer in as many of your credits as possible, be sure request official transcripts from all of the previous institutions you attended.

Seeking a second degree or major?   You may have already earned your bachelor's degree, but would like to expand your studies into a new field. You can do just that at Mount Mercy by pursuing a second degree or major in our transfer-friendly evening program.

Prior Learning Assessment — We allow up to 30 credits through APEL (Assessment of Prior Experiential Learning) that permits students to request that substantial work-related or other prior learning experiences and accomplishments be evaluated for potential academic credit.
