Handshake

An online tool to find jobs and internships for college students.

Discover Your Strengths

Mount Mercy students and alumni have access to a complimentary aptitude and interest assessment called YouScience. This assessment uses brain games to identify students’ natural skills and talents and then identifies careers that are a strong fit for those aptitudes. Contact Career Services for a personalized access code to take YouScience.

Interview Confidently

Interviewing is one of the most critical parts of the job search process as it provides candidates and employers an opportunity to determine if they are a good match. It’s also typically one of the more nerve-wracking parts of the process. Career Services partnered with the Student Government Association to provide students free access to Big Interview — a video and text-based interview training program and virtual mock interview tool representing more than 140 industries. Visit Big Interview and register with a Mount Mercy email account for free access.

Find Jobs and Internships

Handshake, known as the #1 way for college students to find jobs and internships, is an online tool available to all Mount Mercy University students and alumni. To log in, go to Handshake and gain access to internship and job opportunities as well as personalized job recommendations based on skills and interests.

Micro-internships are another way to gain hands-on experience in a particular field of interest. These paid, project-based assignments help students build and demonstrate skills while exploring a variety of career paths. Create a free account and learn more about available micro-internship opportunities.

Connect with Employers

The Career Services office coordinates multiple career fairs and employer-focused events throughout the year. Contact Career Services to learn more about upcoming events.
